A Brief Statement, and some old news. (oh boy!)

Hi Everybody

As you know, the unfortunate closing of Chubbys Club LasSalle in early
January left us Punkin Holler Boys without a place to have our Third Friday of the
Month  PUNKIN HOLLER NIGHT show.  We had been playing TTFOTM at Chubbys since
1999 and many good folks were used to it (I wince when I think of those who
have shown up, only to find The Bar At The Center of the Universe boarded up).

After four months, countless beers and not much effort on our part, we are
pleased to announce that we have found a new home!!!!!

Starting Friday, May 21 The Punkin Holler Boys will be hosting THE HELLBILLY
HAPPY HOUR at The Historic Melody Inn on TTFOTM.  For those of you who are not
familiar with The Mel., it is the best venue for live original music in
Indianapolis.  Dave the owner is a true music fan, smart businessman and a heck of
a nice guy.  Those young whippersnappers The Drunken Deacons have been hosting
The HH every week for a couple years now, and have graciously offered us
TTFOTM so they can rest-up or play out of town. Thanks Sean, Zorba, Rich, Uncle
Fugley & Miss Kimmy!!!!!!

When asked how much money he thought he would loose in this endeavor Dave
Brown, Melody Inn owner said "The Punkin Holler Boys are the perfect replacement
for The Drunken Deacons."

The Hellbilly Happy hour starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm, there is a $3 cover.

Come on out!!!!!

07/06/04  Here's a quick note about some great local music. Will Stockwell and his band Stockwell Road are playing real honky tonk music every thursday evening at the Melody Inn. Show starts at 7:00 and runs to about 9:30.There's a small cover and a beer special of some sort. Best part is that on top of some classic Merle Haggard, Johnnie Cash and Hank Williams, Will and the boys are doing some songs by local songwriter Ralph Jeffers. (yep that's me)

7/13/04  The  "Fields of Bluegrass Hour" on WICR 88.7 FM, University of Indianapolis Radio, has a new time and day. Friday nights at 9PM starting August 6th.  Fields Of Bluegrass will be immediately followed by "The Folk Sampler", "The Midnight Special" and the ever-popular "Free Zone". Give the Fields of Bluegrass Hour a listen, and tell 'em Punkin Holler sent ya.

7/14/04   NUVO the local news weekly has published a very nice article about us, written by our good friend Scott Hall. Check it out on our Links page!!

7/18/04   When it rains... Two more great shows just came in. First the Midwest Music Summit, and second (to none) the Hilly Hundred. See the schedule for more!

9/6/04  Happy Labor Day!! We've been mighty busy here in the holler and are enjoying our day off. Hope all of you are too! Just want to say, Thank You, to all the folks that have come out to see us in August.
The Upper Room show for MMS was a blast. A nice small venue filled to the rafters with people wanting to hear music, Oh yeah!
Of course the Melody was, as always, a lot of fun. We realy enjoyed hearing Stockwell Road, who followed us that night and the Freightliners were a lot of fun!
A Big THANKS to the Franklin family in Dayton Ohio for inviting us to their home. Beer in Big Cans! You gotta love that.
FOX Rocks, yes it does. We realy enjoyed playing for the unsuspecting folks of Brownsburg IN., and it was nice to hear Zorba and Miss Kimmie's new band Tumbleweeds! Thanks again April!
The Feast of the Lanterns and Three Bean Salad are always a hoot!
And last but not least our good friend Rich Hynes and WKLU radio for putting us live on the Air Waves!! That was very KOOL!
Thanks to everybody, and we'll see you all again very soon!!
