Some News....

11/2/04   Wow October just flew by, I guess cause we were having soooo much fun!! First thank you's to the Ditsworths, Wassons and Funnel Cake Hadleys, for having us out to their wonderfull parties. We all had a BLAST! A big thanks to all the Holler Heads that made it out to the first Melody Inn "Punkin Holler Harvest Extravaganza". What a great nite for us. It was great to see the old Chubbys gang (especialy the Wadsworth clan) all together, just like old times! And what a great bunch of bands! Our old friends "Tecumsah Flyers" and new friends "The FreightLiners" and "Deacon Sean and the Snake Handlers". Thanks to the Melody for allowing us to continue the tradition in such a friendly place! Speaking of friendly places, I'd have to say that "Garys" made us feel right at home for our "Punkin HollerWeen" celebration. Lots of cold Rolling Rock Beer, good eats, and costumed Holler Heads, it just don't get much better than that! Jeff and Erin, you two Rock, and thanks to Julie Ed, Robin, and Karen, for all the work in decorating both venues!  The Hilly Hundred was a real experience for us this year! I never thought the Punkin Holler Boys would be playing to thousands of  folks on bicycles, in 30 degree weather, at 8:00 in the morning! It was nice to see so many old friends again this year, and to meet so many new friends, is always the bonus! We're looking forward to next years event, and if it's a little warmer, that would be alright too!  Thanks to our new friend Jessica Halverson from Intake News Weekly for the nice article, and Cary fields of Fields of Bluegrass for puttin us on the air! One more thank you goes out to our old friend Alan Allred for including us on his web site Extra Extraordinary Dolt Records. Alans got a wonderfull site that features a lot of the Indianapolis talent we here in the Holler find to be very entertaining. It includes a lot of great pics, and stories about all of them including PHB. There is a link to it on our links page and I encourage you to check it out. (Hey their are some great pics of our October shows there!)  Well that's all for now, don't forget our Third Friday of the Month show at the Melody (Nov. 19), and don't forget to VOTE.

10/10/04  Well here we are October!! This is traditionaly the Punkin Holler busy season (what with all the tourists and all). First of all a big Thanks to the Ditsworths for another fine fall evening of  Music, Friendship, PBR, and Pork. That sauce was some of the best! Also thanks to Cary Fields and Misty, for recording us "LIVE to be aired at a later date" (Oct. 15th 9 to 10 pm on WICR 88.7 FM) for Cary's show the Fields of Bluegrass Radio Hour. One more Thanks to Jessica Halverson of INtake newsweekly for spending an evening with us trying to do a short  interview with three guys who love to talk about themselves. I don't think she'll leave for an interview again with out lots of snacks and coffee!!
Now on top the fist Harvest Extravaganza to be held at the Melody Inn on the 15th, and the Hilly Hundred show on the 17th, I've got some news on the Hollerween show on the 30th, at Gary's, from Micheal, one of the owners.

.....there will be a cover of $3 which will be waived if a GOOD costume is worn and reduced for any effort otherwise (wearing your pajamas, scrubs or a baseball shirt and hat are pretty lame, but it is an effort and will be somehow rewarded).  There will be a costume contest (probably best, worst, least or something) with prizes which we do not know yet.  We may raffle off a few things on a tip board over the course of the night too with proceeds going to charity (Riley’s Ride/Papaw’s Palace).  There will be an “Orange and Black 8-ball tourney” earlier in the evening (beginning at 6-6:30) where, if the shooter makes their orange ball (5 or 13, depending on if they are solids or stripes) they get a free shot at the 8 ball to end that game.  It will be a race to 3 tourney (the first player to win 3 wins the match and proceeds to the next bracket).  There will be numerous drink specials and special drinks…Rolling Rock will be on special (and we will have a case or so chilled for you guys too) and we have created several new drinks just for the show to include: Ghost Martini, Black Cat Martini, Witches Brew, Devil’s Advocate, Candy Corn Shot and probably a few more that I am forgetting....

See you There!!
