Curt
Teich
Postcard Archives, part of the Lake County Discovery Museum
in
Wauconda, Illinois. The Curt Teich Postcard Archives is
recognized
throughout the world as the largest public collection of postcards and
related materials. PACE is a biennial juried
exhibition that honors the postcard as an art form and challenges
artists
from around the country to create original works of art in 4"x 6"
postcard size. The 2009 PACE exhibit will open in October at the Lake
County Discovery Museum and then will travel to various galleries and
cultural institutions
throughout 2009–2010.

and his bride Julie, who were married this July. The
ink drawing was featured on their wedding invitation and
program, and the
completed painting was presented to them as a wedding
gift. Justin and Julie are teachers in China, so the image that
Carrie designed
for
them features several elements inspired by Chinese
symbolism: the dragonfly is
considered a symbol of good luck, the six water
lilies signify renewal and hope (with 6 considered a lucky
number), and the cloud heads surrounding the
circle
denote magical powers and long life.
- Carrie displayed a collection of paintings at

reproductions of Carrie's paintings. The museum shop is also
offering the

"European Peacock" for purchase.
In
the fall of 2008, Carrie

Artisan program. Indiana Artisan was established as
a
joint
venture of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural
Affairs, the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, the Indiana Arts
Commission, and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. One of the
program's goals is to establish and promote a "brand"
of quality
handmade crafts, specialty foods, and fine art produced by Hoosier
artisans.
- Carrie's painting "Bee
